And The Trap Has Been Set!

Posted by Dark-Volcano-Sam Aug. 1, 2008 @ 10:58 AM EDT

There were two Mormons walking by, asking me about some Prophet and wanting me to join in their religion, which is Christianity in case some of you are living under a rock. There it is, my opportunity to prove if there is such a being as God or something stupid humans made up. I give away a fake name as well as a fake address to them, so that they can shove books and preach about how awesome "Jebus" is. Well, if the "Savior" is that awesome and omnipotent, he should informed Bert and Ernie (the two Mormons) about my real name and address. If that is true, they should be here anytime. If they don't arrive, then it is proof God or anyone with God-like powers never existed. Therefore, I will wait until they show up.

. . . I doubt they will come. Really, giving in to such an elaborate story is like claiming Chuck Norris can slice the world in two with his roundhouse kick. Religions and cults are something no one should be forced to have. It's best to keep smiling and walk away quickly! There is no need for more brainwashing.

I don't really like Mormons. They're kind of annoying trying to spread their religion by going to every single person's house. And good luck "trapping" them.

To really think that you know all the secrets of the universe is a pretty ignorant statement. We simply humans may not be able to truly understand the celestial as was claimed in the middle ages. Or perhaps god (or goddess, or gods and goddesses) arn't there to aid us through everyday life and help us and take us by the hand. they created our world, and have left us to our own devices. They gave us free will and the ability to think for ourselves to make our own opinions (hence I respect yours, and am actually just stating my own). Anyway, I will not leave a large rant like I somewhat planned on doing here, and will leave you to your day.

P.S. I'm not a very religious person, simply spiritual.

In a sense, ideas and beliefs are abstract thoughts anyone should never quarrel or convince to. An individual has the right to be who they are and believe what they believe without persecution. I still believe evolution is how life begins rather than intelligent design. I still believe people are have abstract thoughts because of a series of evolutionary paths, not because it was "magically" given by some omnipotent being. I have the right to believe this story, and you have the right to believe in your story. There are people believing storks delivering babies, as well as some believe there is a world created by Chaos Emeralds.

I don't shove anyone if anyone don't shove me. Consider there is a lot more stories created by people from other planets, because soon, you will meet them.

most ACTUAL Christians think Mormons are sex-crazed lunatics, myself included, I mean, the so called "Book of Mormon" was apparently translated from Hebrew to English with a scrying stone by a kid who knew practically no history and who thought about girls alot

Have I told you I'm tired of all of the memes?

I was visited by two Jehova's Witnesses once, and they gave me a book. I didn't have the heart to break their feelings and tell them to get lost, so I humored them and took their book. Several days later, the same Jehova's Witnesses came back and asked me what I thought of the book. I didn't have the heart to break their feelings and tell them that I threw it in the recycling bin, so I told them I hadn't read it yet (which was technically true). They asked if they could come back some other time or some bullshit like that, and I told them I might not be around for a while.

What I really wanted to do was point a sawed-off shotgun in their faces and tell them never to set foot in my neighborhood again. Or make a remote-controlled Dalek to open the door and screech "EXTERMINATE!!!" at them until they left. But I'm just a nice guy in real life.

I really don't like religion, either. Might I recommend some books for you?
"1984" by George Orwell
"The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark" by Carl Sagan
"Childhood's End" or "the 2001: A Space Odyssey" series by Arthur C. Clarke

And if you have the time, check these forums out: http://whywontgodhealamputees.com/for ums/index.php I'm WellManicuredMan there.

Also, funny story. There was a famous agnostic/deist (I think it was Ben Franklin) who saw a child talking to a priest, went up to the child, and whispered in the child's ear, "Run, run! Before it's too late!"

Yes. It's good someone noticed my abilities.

Still, it's unrelated to this.
